Why It's Great To Be Single

Here's why it's great to be single. Being single gets a bad rap. We’re constantly on the hunt for “the one”, for love, for someone to share our lives with, for a partner to make all of our troubles a little less daunting. If someone has been single for too long, we tend to pity them, to try and set them up on blind dates with our friends or acquaintances or that hot guy from the bar, and reassure them not to worry, their next true love can’t be far away. You might hear something along the lines of, “Oh, you and your guy broke up? I’m so sorry! That sucks! You must be heartbroken! But don’t worry, I’m sure you’ll find someone soon in no time!” We’ve all heard that - the comfort, the hope and optimism that this state of being “single” will only be temporary, a short-term wrongness that will be set right in the end.

But what’s up with that? What’s wrong with being without a significant other? Being in a relationship isn’t always all it’s cracked up to be, and what’s more, there are actually tons of advantages and benefits to being on your own!

I was married from the age of 40 to 50. The last couple of years were absolutely horrible. My ex cheated on me & we split. The first week or so was tough. After that, the dark cloud slowly lifted & I loved my new life. I have it all now, peace, quiet & freedom. I saved so much money after the split, that I was able to retire at the age of 54. I've kept myself in excellent condition with weights & cardio. Over the years, I've had a few single mothers come after me, but I turned them all down. They see my lifestyle & they want in on it. There's no way I'm going to be anyone's retirement package. Stay single, fellas.

I have been single for sixty-six years of my life and after what I have seen of relationships over many years, I decided I had too much respect for myself than to babysit screwed up people and waste precious time. WORD!

Seriously, being single is a gift. Once you truly developed a genuine connection with yourself, you won't find it boring or lonely. If you have a career that you love especially if it's something that demands a lot of your time, it's better to stay single. Getting married and having kids is a huge responsibility (not only financially but EMOTIONALLY, PHYSICALLY, AND MENTALLY).

As a person who loves solitude and peace most of the time, I can stay up late at night working on things that I love but I can't imagine myself being a homemaker for the rest of my life and just taking care of the kids the whole day.

There's nothing wrong with being a MOM and a CAREER WOMAN but at some point, you'll have to juggle and compromise in order to perform well in both areas.

Kids are amazing and I love being around them but I don't want to fail in the aspect of motherhood if my career matters most to me. Again, everyone has a different opinion towards relationships, this is just my personal choice.

I do not get jealous seeing newlywed couples or people who have just started a family. I feel happy and content with my family and dogs. :)

With all the BS I see my friends and family go thru in relationships, Im good on that! I have so much freedom to focus on my music career, write new music, workout whenever I want, and plan the future that I want, not what a girlfriend or wife wants me to compromise on. I can live in a cabin in the middle of nowhere fishing, hunting, and growing my own produce in a greehouse, and not feel pressured by a loved one to go spend all my money and time to go live in a stuffy suburb.
