CS GO's netcode is far superior to VALORANT's

obsolete now that CS:GO no longer exists and has been replaced with CS2, featuring the same crappy network implementation as VALORANT. see pinned comment for my opinion on that.

can't get more obvious than this.

EDIT 07.02.2022: today my internet was upgraded to 1 gbit/s fiber. my average ping now is at 6ms on Frankfurt 1 servers. this still happens in VALORANT and any other game still feels much better. this even more underlines that this issue has to do with the game's netcode, in some weird way.

the CS GO recording only has 60 fps because shadowplay does not allow for anything else than 30 or 60. OBS is blocked unless CS GO is launched in "untrusted" mode, which negatively affects the trust factor. i won't do that EVER since my trust factor already is hella trash and i get cheaters almost every game.

i know that this is just one instant taken from every game seemingly randomly, but trust me if i say, this is the experience i get whenever i play one of these games. in CS GO, no matter what, i can always stand my ground and fight back, even when i'm extremely tired and playing deathmatch against pros, i can hold my 2+ KDR and destroy these pros. in VALORANT i get destroyed by silvers and bronzes regularly. this stuff happens so often, i get outfragged by players who should be WAY worse. the game's netcode must be at fault here since this happens in no other game. not even battlefield has this level of desync.

jett in that deathmatch game was not cheating and ended up in the lower half of the scoreboard. this is exclusively due to bad netcoding.

Very accurate representation of my experience with the game. Most info i found about it is blaming it to peekers, angle advantage, prefiring, lack of skill, luck or a combination of any of those. But if that's true, why don't i have the same experience in cs:go. It's not just me having it, all my friends as well. We just keep playing the game since it has so much potential. And in some games it is suddenly gone and i'm top fragging, like shooting fish in a barrel. It's also not my internet, fiber with 10ms ingame RTT.

true. valorant is probably one of the most RNG "esport" competetive fps games out there. run and gun, random spray patterns, inconsistent operator recoil, unbalanced agents (chamber is still S+ tier after 2 nerfs), no replay system, they let smurfs and boosters be hidden (hidden level, previous rank, nickname etc), one of the worst ranking systems (its worse thjan faceit non-prem lmao)

How the tables have turned. Let's see how all of these VALORANT defenders explain this.

CS2 released about a month ago, with a new "subtick" netcoding system. The game features a new style of netcoding which was necessary for the subtick system to be implemented. This style of netcoding is based on a so-called "command queue" and it is implemented the same way like it is in VALORANT. You can see the system in action when you enter "cq_netgraph 1" in the CS2 console. The system is fundamentally different in almost all aspects from the old CS:GO implementation.

Now I do not want to be rude or come across as an arrogant prick but if you don't fully understand what you're looking at when you enable cq_enable 1, please reconsider leaving a comment. You can of course still comment general stuff about the game(s) but please think twice about making statements related specifically towards the netcoding topic.

To absolutely nobody's surprise, many, many people, including top of the line pros, are non-stop complaining about the game's outrageous peekers advantage and delayed animations, including dying behind solid cover and getting hits while the crosshair is nowhere near the opponent. All of these complaints, not from me but actual major-winning professional players, must be taken seriously to the highest of degrees. These are the best of the best after all.

To all the people in this comment section who either have commented baseless and objectively wrong arguments about various "excuses", or are about to post new comments in the future, let me ask you a question: What about now? Do you still think this is related to angles, steps, "just holding the angle", cheaters? If you really think this is the case and I am not a credible person, do you also discredit all existing professional players who utter the same critique with CS2's (=VALORANT's) system? Do you seriously think that even the highest regarded professional players are making stuff up, or do you think they might be the ones who should know best? Is it only a valid statement when pros say it? Is it only a valid statement when SPUNJ is going on an unhinged 30 minute rant on HLTV confirmed about how trash the new game is? Is the opinion of this one peasant on YouTube invalid, even though he has said the exact same thing years ago that pros are just now starting to complain about after the game was switched to the same system as VALORANT?

Of course not. I was right from the very beginning. This style of netcode implementation is flawed and CS2 shows it, more than VALORANT in some aspects. It can be good, if implemented flawlessly. Neither VALVE nor Riot have managed to do so. The same flaws are apparent, but VALORANT can mask the problems just a tiny bit better with it's 128 tickrate. The fundamental problems are still there and there to stay.

Take the L, VALORANT defenders.

This is the greatest comparison I ever saw.

Valorant netcode is a mess.

From a another guy who plays FPS for more than 10 years.

For sure csgo feels better, i have played 3k hours in csgo and thought I'd dominate in valorant but if I literally don't headshot people instantly im just dead. It's a shame as valorant feels really fun cause of the abilities/

this comment section sums up valorant players perfectly.
simply nuts. even tho example in the video is not great. valorant has serious issue.

You were closer to the angle so he could see you before you could see him. Jump into a custom match and go pixel by pixel you can see how much extra time he has to hit the shot.

Only bronze, silver and gold ranks will agree with this videos, because don't understand valorant angles mechanics

Skye was literally running, making foot steps and got one tapped. You call this bad net code? Seriously? CS:GO fanboys are really stupid

This video is complete nonsense because in Valorant Sky was leaning against the box and Jett saw him before because he was far from the box so Jett saw him first, because of the distance from the box, and that's why Jett killed Sky first, but amateur players do not understand this game mechanic

This is an electrical issue and has nothing to do with game design.
