The grooves in the Ghosthand and the ridges in the shengshou but serve the same purpose... Creating less contact points between the pieces. Creating less contacts points= less friction and a smoother cube

Lol the tracks are what makes the cube so smooth haha so I wouldn't shave them off :)

You have the Version 2 Shengshou 3x3. The version 1 is much better, but not as good as the wind.
