What is the Best Filler for Cheeks? | Dr. Ben Talei | Beverly Hills Center for Plastic Surgery

Patients frequently come to me with questions about the best type of cheek filler. The answer - It depends on what area of the cheek is being filled. If we are filling the anterior cheek or under eye, I always, always use Restylane-L. For the zygomatic bone area, I find that the best choices are Voluma, Restylane Lyft and Restylane Contour. Lastly, for the soft tissue area of the cheek, I use either Restylane Defyne, Restylane Contour or Voluma. One of the most important aspects to remember when filling cheeks is that filling the correct area is just as important as using the correct filler.

A native of California, Dr. Benjamin Talei graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a degree in Physiological Sciences. He received his medical degree at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. Dr. Talei then went on to complete his residency training in Head and Neck Surgery at Columbia University and Cornell University Medical Centers, New York Presbyterian Hospital. I got told by my doctor she was injecting me the same product of some months before (Restylane) in the cheeks, instead she used Fillorga Artfiller Universal. It’s a much more new product no FDA approved and I don’t know if it’s safe in the long time, I didn’t want it. Is it legal to do something like this? How is the patient safe if the doctor tells its one product and then uses another one when you can’t look at it? I feel so betrayed
