holy crap. 190 hp turbocharged, AWD, AWS, 0-60 in 6.5 seconds and a manual transmission? wish they still made them like this. 6.5 to 60 is actually still pretty good by today's standards.

90’s Japanese cars were THE most interesting produced cars imo.
AWD, 4WS, intercooled turbos, 4 valves per cylinder, Dohc, efi, variable ride height & stiffness, variable valve timing.. the list of goodies just kept on getting better!

...Then one day it all just died away 🙁

Oh how far Mitsubishi has fallen since the early 90's.

When's the last time i saw one of these? When i left my house this morning. I have one in the driveway and one in the garage that won't be driven again until spring.

I had a '92 DSM for a few years, a car that was based on the Galant VR-4. I loved it to death and it was suprisingly reliable, mostly cause I didn't try to push 400+ hp from cheap bolt on parts. Kept it mostly stock and the engine hummed like nothing else, even after 28+ years of age that 4g63 would always fire up and run like a charm no matter what

0-60 of 6.5 seconds back then would have been quite fast.

I own #221/1000, love it to death, the Japanese make a superior automobile hands down.

Where has this been?! Been a DSM owner since 2002 and had a GVR-4 for a while, too! Love this!

I know this is early 90's, but could you add the year to the title or description? Keep the videos coming!

I recently picked up a 88' JDM RHD GVR4 and man this is underrated. Had my Brother-In-Law in town a couple weeks ago who owns a 2017 Focus RS and we decided to do a few highway pulls... AND man let me ya'll... THIS EVO ZERO held it's own!!! we did both 2nd and 3rd gear pulls and his RS barely walked away from my GVR4 on the top end of 4 gear going into 5th. SURPRISED us both. Oh yea, his RS was bone stock and my GVR4 had K&N drop in filter and full TBE, but still very impressive. I'm planning on a few other bolt-ons over the next year or so and tune with Haltech 1000 ECU. Can't wait!

Love the 1g Galant VR4's. I really, really dig the shark nose Galant VR4 that everyone in the world got but the US, too. TT V6 AWD with a manual. The Legnum would be my ultimate VR4, though.

About 20 years ago I had a slightly modified 1991 MR2 turbo and got smoked from a red light by a Galant VR4 like I was going in reverse. I found out some time later the car I lost to was well known and ran high 11’s in the qtr mile. Still prob my worst wood shed beating to this day.

Cars this small and light are gone forever. I liked 'em and grew up with 'em. Have personally owned a 3 cyl. Daihatsu Charade, and early CRX HF Honda.
