IndyCar has Terrible marketing, that's why

This event was an insult to the real hard-working fans who give up large portions of their paychecks to attend races and buy merchandise. People like us hate the billionaire worshipping. Rock bottom has arrived guys.

It was embarrassing for Indycar. The way the commentators spoke about the exclusive club over and over was absolutely nauseating.

First time IndyCar Watcher. I see why people say IndyCar has poor PR.

Still, they'll claim that this was miles better than what the rich club was doing on the other side of the Pacific Ocean - I'm obviously refering to Formula One and the Australian Grand Prix.

Meanwhile PRO, , the NHRA professional drivers association, put on a high dollar pre-season event in Florida with outstanding racing, 341 mph record breaking speeds, and fans hanging from the rafters! IndyCar has lost the storyline.

Bad marketing, boring racing, wouldn’t surprised me if the ratings sucked.

Keep the All-Star Race, but at an oval or somewhere that is not Thermal Club, and keep Thermal Club as a testing track only.

Man being an IndyCar fan is so hard

It felt like Indycar went back to the days when that Rodeo guy was in charge.

Makes me wonder if the organizers had considered how nasty the early Spring desert winds can be? As it equates to a lot of blowing dust.

I switched onto this and immediately asked myself "what the heck am I watching?" A "private" racetrack around a bunch of well-off stiffs' homes in California? What an absolute joke.

No Fans. They really don't know their audience.

It was worth a shot, but it wasn’t that good

Is there a reason that IndyCar hasn't gone back to Burke Airport in Cleveland? It's the only major CART venue that didn't make a come back!!

One of the most bizarre and stupidest things I've ever seen in racing as a whole. Embarassing for Indy Car. Wh0ring the sport out to a private rich boy gated community/club. Racing was awful, awful rules, no fans. Reeks of desperation for the series. No surprise Honda has had about enough of this.

It all had a "poor imitation of f1" vibe. I was, frankly, offended.
And... the racing was awful.

As a UK f1 fan who has watched just about every f1 race in the last 30 years, and has been to an Indycar (well, CART) race, I gave up after the first 15 minutes.

The poor-shaming was off the charts... I saw an interview with the owner of Thermal Club and he's saying 'these guys (referring to the TC members) are just regular people like you and me' and my bullsh!t meter spiked. No, you are not the 'average joe'. You have no idea what real life is like, get da fug oughtta heeya!

When I was a kid, Indy Car had a Trentonian 300 Split. There were two 150-mile races on the old kidney bean oval. I got in for free because I delivered the newspaper who sponsored of the race. Those were the days. Connor Daly isn't funny, but he is the stepson of the President of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, which makes him a boring shill.

The heat racing was pretty stupid, imo. That would make sense for a short track, but at a glorified track day circuit, that was lame.

The constant tongue bathing that thermal club received was nauseating as well. You don’t HAVE to be there. I’d rather run a points race at a proper race track.
