You should always shut power off at the breaker before working with electricity. Not turning power off at the braker when working with electricity. You will get an electric shock or kill you from electricity. Electricity is dangerous. I always shut power off at the breaker when working with electrical wire for safety.

Hey I see this is old but if I have (2) 3 way switches and (2) 4 way switches between the 3 ways do you i just tie the travlers together in the 4 ways (red to red white to white) pass them thru set a pico go to the 3 way that has the switch leg in it tie ALL (3) those together with a red nut and set a pico then go to 3 way with the (hot) tie both travs together to one leg of the master switch and the hot to the other leg of the master. Can you use the master at the 3 way where the switch leg is or does the master need to be at the 3 way with the hot... Should work in theory what say you sparky...
