They spent MONTHS creating this entire elaborate backstory, the history, all the albums, all of it, so they would be ready for any of the questions "Marty" might ask them. (although Michael and Chris have admitted that they would sometimes "encourage" certain questions so they could use the best bits.)

I saw an Unsolved Mysteries episode where they focused on the mystery of Stumpy’s death. They strongly implied it was his grandmother who killed him with a water hose.
