Students are returning to campus this week for fall semester so it seemed a good time to post this :)..............A Summer Song is a song performed by the folk/rock duo Chad and Jeremy in 1964. The group was part of the British Invasion. It appears in their album Yesterday's Gone.....It was written by Chad Stuart, Kieth Noble, and Clive Metcalfe. It reached number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 2 on the US Billboard Adult Contemporary Charts.

This song almost makes me cry. I remember it very well. I was a teenager growing up in Massachusetts and this reminds me of being young again.

This beautiful song hits hard. Yesterday would have been my 49th wedding anniversary. The angels had other plans. They came and took my sweet husband Dennis home 6 years ago. I've always considered the years spent with Dennis the Summer of my life. Listening to this song brings back such sweet memories but I still feel the pain of having to say good bye.

I had a boyfriend1 year ago and we had so much fun in the starry night and on the beach with a blanket and rolling through the sand.. we danced in parks and loved those days. He had a old truck he picked me up in and we would find any place to kiss and hug.. He played the guitar and he came to my house and sang that song to me I did.have to say a word .. And shortly after the song . Our relationship was going like the window pane.. This was probably the best year I have had with Love in many moons.. I miss him so much but I suppose it was not to be.. I will never forget the happy crazy things we did..My heart still feels that Love I am so grateful I was able to feel real love and caring.I am 71. Never to late to experience this kind of Love.I let go …. If he returns it will be Gods will… I just had to let go not easy to do .. But I let him fly away..

I'm using this song for my daughter's memorial service. She was only 39 years old and was a victim of a targeted attack. She was my beautiful summer baby. Born 6.5.84. Her death has left a huge hole in my heart. This song is a memory of her that I will forever remember and never forget my beautiful sunshine 🌞

What a masterpiece. Who hasn't had a "summer fling." If you haven't I feel sorry for you. I sang this song to my "Summer Girlfriend" in September of1993, she had to leave Georgia and go back to Louisiana. We both cried. "Wish you didn't have to go...No, no. no, no..."
