David Essex Rock On (music video)

This one was David singing the song live to a studio audience gathered around him (check out the guy on the floor near him, not sure what is going on there). I replaced and resynched the audio for the first few minutes, but towards the end he starts improvising a lot so I went back to the "live" audio for the end of the song.

I remember walking out on the porch as a young kid. My dad sitting there in his chair. The only light in the room is coming from the Dewalt Radio dial bar, and the end of his cigarette. This song lightly playing in the background. Miss you pops.

When I found out this was from ‘73 I was floored! They didn’t make songs like this until the 80’s! I was 10 in ‘73 and listened to my parent’s country music back then. The Eagles switched me over!

At a 4-star pop/rocker event at the Brighton Centre UK I went to in April 2007, David followed the great David Cassidy, but whereas Mr Cassidy (bless him) spent 10 minutes first, explaining why he was so thrilled to be there, Mr Essex came-on to equally great applause and simply said: "Thank you! And I want to thank the fans like you who've stayed with me over the years... It means a lot to me(!) Here's 'Rock On!' " Class.
