After about six months, the price almost always drops to ~50% of its launching price. At that time, you can choose optional components like the 5G modem and select a Linux distribution as the operating system. But I feel this model is special compared to the last few generations. It's not necessarily the most innovative, but it's more stable and has a much better battery. Thinkpads have always had that aura and respect.

I‘m using mine for 10 days now. It’s really great. My only concern is, that the backspace key sounds much different from all the other keys. It’s really noticeable, and I hope it will not fail.
Delivery time was also not great, they promised 6-9 days, but it took over three weeks to be delivered to Germany.
But anyways, the device itself is fantastic!

I've been using an X1 Yoga Gen8 32 GB, 2 TB machine and look forward to replacing it with the X1 Car in Gen 13.

I understand the Lunalake processor has 32GB of RAM onboard. Do you know if it will have a 64GB version?

I am waiting to order a custom build so that I can upgrade to a OLED 4k touch screen, a better camera and G5. I also may go with the Sensel touchpad but I frequently use the red nubbin and wonder if that is a mistake.

Lenovo told me to expect custom build availability in February.

Once this laptop breaks sub $1, 500 in around 6 months I will be much more inclined to buy. The lightweight is highly attractive to me and I love haptic trackpads.

Nice to see a follow up review of this laptop. It is one thing to review a laptop out of the box as opposed to see some actual real time experience using a laptop over a period of time. Unfortunately you cannot do this will all the pc's you review. You would never have any time for anything else. Great follow up review.

B and H had an open box 512gb model for $300 off (around 1700) a few weeks ago and I pulled the trigger. As a MacBook user I can say this laptop is excellent. For work and travel it is preferable due to the extreme light weight and high build quality . And man, that keyboard.

Looking to upgrade my Gen 9 and considering this one with the OLED screen. The X1 Carbon is pretty much perfect, mil spec build, feather light, tons of useful ports, great keyboard. Battery life is my singular complaint, hoping the Gen 13 improves on this.

I have the Carbon Gen 12. My only complaint about the Gen 13 is that it only provides a 1080p webcam. I have an 8MP 2140p on my Gen 12. I don't understand why they are offering a worse webcam on the Gen 13. I would upgrade if the webcam option was different. Thanks for the great videos!
