I think pulling off a perfect guard actually increases the Clash meter MORE than a normal guard

Big one, and it's an achievement as well, you can use your binoculars to see if a monster is a crown size or not before you fight it. If it's a gold crown, go ahead and engage to get the credit, and if you save the fight as an investigation, it saves the monsters size too. Help your friends get those crowns while hunting for parts.

Power clashes are built up in an invisible meter based on how much you manage to guard. Perfect guards fill up that meter more than regular guards

If you need more heals use the mushroomancer talisman. At lvl 1 you can use blue mushrooms as potions and can carry 10 of them. Toadstool mushrooms can be used like atidotes. Its a good quality of life for newer players

Focus with insect glace will enhance your combo allowing your kinsect to attack with your attack

it’s funny how videos like these are needed. I saw a hunter rank 79 not even using focus moves once.

Some good ppints. I have seen alot of people who forget to use Focus mode, or try to do Guards, or even straight up forget to eat and come to fight with half hp. The best random group I have encountered was where we did Tempered Arkvell 8 in under 3.30 minutes. We all did pur parts perfectly, the greatsword did some good dps, dual blade was all over the place, kinsect glaive was always on the back of the monster, and I triggered 2 power clashes with my gunlance and set shock trap and flash to prevent monster from running. It was awesome and 3 of the tips from this video did play part in that encounter

You can turn on toggle for focus mode rather than hold. I would reccomend it for literally every weapon

you can also tell if theres a wound without focus mode because the damage numbers will have little dots around them, so if youre using a weapon that for whatever reason doesnt want to camp in focus mode the whole time you can just tell what spots are wounds by looking at the damage numbers.

For kinsect glaive mains I highly recommend immediately mounting the monster (if you can get a sneak attack first then do so and then mount the monster) make as many wounds as you can during your mounting before using your finisher. when you destroy a wound while in focus mode you get all 3 extracts immediately

If there is a wound, don't focus mode on it immediately, get the most out of it by attacking a few times THEN go for it.

For the longest time I thought that the only way to trigger a clash was to get a a perfect gaurd and didn’t realize it was just any block lol

You can actually see spots that are about to be weak spots. Just look for the white marks on their body and if you attack it enough itll turn into a weakspot

try to only break one wound at a time as weapons tend to get an advantage per wound break animation GS getting true charge LS getting a gauge and a round slash for a second gauge out of it switch axe gets it's axe charge in axe form and glaive was mentioned by another. focus striking wounds while someone is mounted will knock them off and mounted finishers deal more damage then a focus strike

I will be fully honest, I have no idea what my binds were for the focus and have been struggling. Just got them rebound and it’s so much better

The focus mode is a godsend, my true charge slashes miss all the time in mhworld, it also helps my wake up hits

So genuine question since i just picked up the game the other day and havent played since World (played a bit of Rise but couldnt get into it), im a charge blade guy, am i able to do the clash thing your talking about? Im assuming yes since in sword mode i do have access to a sheild and blocking, just want to make sure

Perfect guard is a lot more forgiving than whats implied in this video
You can commit to a guard like a full half second before an attack connects and it'll still count as perfect
