Little bonus tip/info regarding the Inventory part: like in previous MH games, at some point you will receive items from (side)quests that give a permanent boost to Attack and Defense as long you hold them in your Inventory. While yes, this will always use up 2 slots in your loadout, it also is an always active boost. Powercharm and Armorcharm respectively :)

Using the glaive's special, then breaking a wound while still in the air to get the buff back will never get old.

This is a much better tips video than most of what is out there.

However hot/cold drinks in loadout is a waste of space. Anytime you are in an area that they are needed there will be bugs you can grab right outside camp that give the same effect and you will have hot or cold drinks in your Quest supplies (left of the d-pad while mounted.)

Also your standard loadout is missing the armor/power charms which should be on your Hunters person at all times.

You DO NOT need to eat before each hunt. You can check how long your meal buff is active from the tent, the timer will be on the right hand side above your food buffs. There's also an icon in the top left above your HP bar which will show active buffs. You can hold LB/L1 on controller, and Ctrl on M/KB and the timer will appear in the top left corner as well.

Tip for trapping: you can pre-tranq the monster before you lure it into a trap if that's easier (will depend on the situation)

While mounted with the Greatsword, create a wound on the head and another one right behind that.. whether it's the neck or high back. If you do the finisher on the wound on the back, it'll automatically destroy the one on the head when you drag the blade to jump off.

Quick gather tip while riding the mount, press L2/LT to aim slinger then either press up or down to your desired material then press O/B to gather it. No need to aim or look at the material this way ☝️

Another great tip is hold L1 and the press R2 and it will equip ur mantle ( the one u choose never the gillie )

A thing from the seikret that my friend and I didn't notice until later, the game tells you to mount your seikret if you press up or down in the d-pad, however I don't think it says the difference between them, if you press up it starts the auto run to go to the marked place you put in the map, but if you press down you go into manual mode, so you can choose between the two to have better control of your mount.

12:37 A very minor correction for this part as I feel it’s important.

It’s not any slinger pod, it’s specifically elemental slinger pods (torch pods, puddles pods etc) firing a stone at the formations doesn’t make them explode.

Biggest tip I have is this, when you can see items in your area, on the left hand side of screen. Hold L2+ d-pad up or down. This will let you individually select each item and then press circle to grab it with your slinger as opposed to aiming your slinger at it then grabbing it. Huge time saver, and you can easily grab it many materials while riding your mount

No need to crouch for a sneak attack. The monster just has to not be alert and there are some limits to it (I think there is a cooldown, I usually can pop two per hunt)

I was so frustrated at first with the controls and finally found the "Click R3 for selecting radial menu items" . Thank you for bringing this up in the video. my god it would've saved countless headache if I saw this sooner.

Thanks so much for this. I have 1500+ hrs in World and so much of this video covers things that are new to Wilds. I'm sure with enough digging around menus I'd have figured it out but you saved me so much time. Really appreciate it 😊

If anyone is finding themselves in need of a quick exit from battle of the much more ‘oh shit I’m about to die’ variety they can also craft some Farcaster’s and use it from their item bar for an guaranteed escape from battle and instant return to camp. They’re single use so you have to restock when returning to camp, but unlike going into the menu the second you use it you’re invincible. Just requires some Smokenut and Exciteshroom.
