Brenda said in the episode before this, is her dad is more tough on me, then on Brandon. I think the reason for that is that when Brandon messes up, he owns up to it, never plays the emotional game of excuses like Brenda does.

The fact that Jackie Taylor gave Kelly so much more leeway than Cindy and Jim ever gave Brenda is almost like an insult to Cindy's frustration. And the worst part is Cindy and (especially) Jim had so much affection for Kelly even after she stole Dylan from Brenda and then moved on to their son.

Jim was always waiting for the opportunity to go after Dylan. He treated Brenda unfairly for his own parental selfishness. She was 17 years old not 13.

I felt like Brenda not allowed to date her boyfriend, all through my teens. My parents didn't allow dating until I finished highschool, and just like Brenda I did it behind their backs. Served them right I wast marriedin my late thirtees:-)

Brenda was a rebel for sure but she had freedom. The only issue was that almost all their friends did whatever they wanted because they also had almost no existing parents and of course she wanted the same. I was that kid that grow up with almost no supervision and I always wanted to have a family like Brenda. Unfortunately I feel that Dylan influenced Brenda not so good and that's why he move on to Kelly, because she was just like him.
