I raised an emotionally disturbed, violent, out of control child (starting age 8). The moment I began getting bad news about my son I made an appointment for services for the nearest hospital that my insurance would handle. It was horrible, heartbreaking but I was terrified my son would hurt another human. What followed was years of counseling, evaluations, etc. At home we practiced self behavioral management. It was horrible - we lives in fear he would "snap" someday and kill our family. However, my husband and I would have done anything so that my son would not hurt another human being. Today he is 47 years ago and counsels emotionally ill young people on how to manage their lives. I thank God we are okay. Parents have to take their children's problems seriously, day one.

If you buy your kid a gun after a visit from law enforcement then these are the consequences.

My children grew up with guns in the house and it's called trigger locks. Parents are absolutely responsible for allowing anyone access to their guns, especially their children.

He killed his first deer and his first human being in the same year. Teaching gun safety just isn’t enough.

My dad took me out to shoot shotguns when I was 13. I'm 42 now and I've never shot anyone. Some people should not have guns.

The stain of blood on his cheek from his first kill was the highlight of his life. Taking the life of anything should never be your life's highlight . Very wrong with some people's thinking 🤔

The family knew well in advance that their son was no good and deeply because of them.

Why only the father? Isn't the mother just as liable?

Aren't the law enforcement personnel responsible, too? They wrote off on it. If they investigated and wrote off on it, wouldn't a parent think everything was okay?

Charge those that investigated and didn't see a problem

Why do they keep calling this kid the suspect. They know he did it. Call him what he is!

He's responsible for that gun, he didn't secured the gun and caused the death of others

It is about time. Parenting, or lack of it, finally comes to the justice system. Where's mom?

Gun safety, problem solving skills & anger management are three different things.

She called him Colon Grey, then she corrected herself. Not necessary, she had it right the first time.

This guy was NOT a responsible gun owner. Children under 21 in your home should never have access to guns. Always lock them in a secure safe. This guy was a total negligent moron. My Dad never let me know the combo of the safe until I was out of high school. Never had guns out in the house, everything was unloaded and put away at all times unless we were about to go hunting or cleaning them and storing them.
