On the Windows 10 computer you may want to go to "add/remove windows features" and turn on SMB/CIFS 1.0

lol why didnt you just copy it into floppy's? Yeah it might take an extra 1.5 years, but at least you'll have the file on the machine.

Network plan was an easy fix. Use the additional features installer on Windows 10 and install SMB 1.0

I really like the mix of jokes, abrupt cuts, flustered confusion, silly title card, elevator music etc mixed with clear information in this video. It's a really fun balance.

I enjoy your more dry informational videos a lot too, but this one was fantastic.

Easiest way to do file sharing is just setting up an FTP server, that's what I do for my W2k and W95 computers.

On the control panel, you probably need to switch to the old encryption used for the network shares.

Also, the printer probably didn't recognize the card because it is formatted in ex-FAT by default.
If you try to format in FAT32, it should probably show on the network share.

I think it’s a really amazing idea to look back at old machines and computers that’s why I love this channel 👍

About that network transfer stuff: the version of file sharing used by Windows 98 is a bit crap.
Following limitations apply: It is SMBv1 only, whereas latest version of SMB is 3. Also all usernames and passwords must be set to the current user on the 98 system.
Unfortunately Microsoft removes SMBv1 support in the latest versions of Windows 10. Remember WannaCry? That was a bug in SMBv1.
So how can you transfer files via Windows File Sharing to/from a 98 PC? Use either Linux/BSD or Windows 7 at the other end. Or make an FTP server instead.
