I found a DOG STUCK under a log!!

Recently on my solo canoe trip across Canada, I found this dog stuck under a log on the side of the river.
The 14 year old Great Pyrenees was stuck for days and could no longer use her back legs.

I'm CANOEING across CANADA! I've never canoed in my life and I'm about to take on the challenge of canoeing from the Rocky Mountains to Montreal.
It has been one of the most intense, eye opening and character building moments of my life!

I know that you want to finish the route to complete what you started - but to many of us, you've already fulfilled your mission by rescuing Ivy. You made sure she didn't die alone, cold and scared. Everything else you accomplish on this trip is gravy.

It's fun to imagine the story told from the other side. A family was missing their dog when one day a stranger knocks on their door and brings her back safely and only slightly worse for wear. They fed him, let him stay the night, and in the morning he got back in his canoe and paddled on down the river.

I have a dog that's 14 aswell and I just couldn't imagine the fact they were probably accepting the fact Ivy was gone. You could hear the relief in his voice when he saw his dog. ❤
