● Balanced & Open-sided
o The open-sided frame allows the lifter to step in and out of the bar and doesn’t limit the lower body range of motion. This makes the bar functional for a wide variety of movements, such as lunging and carrying.
● Deadlift Jack
o By tilting the bar up on its feet, the built-in deadlift jack makes it much easier to load and unload plates. And plastic liners on the feet protect your floor when the bar is in the upright loading position.
● Removable Handles
o The handles are removable with a simple thumbscrew to allow the Open Trap Bar to be used as a cambered bar for presses and squats. Future quick-change handles (rotating, wide, and narrow) are in development.
● Round Tubing & Knurled
o The frame is comprised of round tubing making the bar comfortable to use for pressing and squatting. The 6” knurling provides a solid grip to help stabilize the bar on your back while squatting.
● Rackable
o The distance between the sleeve collars allows for easy racking and unracking. Even on wide, 49” racks, the bar will be flush and secure.

Great discussion and you might the first one with some initial impressions. Any thoughts on the 27.3'' separation between the handles? It seems a little wide? Although I'm personally not that small, I like the 25'' on the TB-1 I was using. And nice jersey!

I've got the titan fitness gun rack mounted to the wall, can this bar be stored on that rack with my other barbells?

What are your thoughts on the rep open trap vs the safety squat bar? I was originally considering the SSB but am looking at the OTB due to some more versatility. It will be my primary bat to squat since the standard barbell causes lots of shoulder pain.

Giant Northland open trapbar is 299.99 + shipping (45$ to California) or local pickup. Better value for money IMO. Pretty similar specs also. 45lbs and 24 inches wide (handle to handle), 15" loadable sleeve and rackable, with built in jack.

However being that the handles can be removed for "cambered" squats that is a plus but the bar is a little too wide.

I wonder why they went with such a wide handle width vs something more moderate. Perhaps they have some different handles planned. I wonder if anyone offers a bar with varying handle widths that doesn't require mounting/un-mounting different handles. Seems like there could be a market for it. I haven't used a lot of trap bars, but just measuring 27+" on a barbell seems like it would be really wide for me.

I would get it even if I only used it for deadlift variations. RDLs and SLDL are ideal on an open trap bar for me
