Yep! I used to live behind one & their dumpster was right in front of where I live. I remember a rotten smell coming from it & seeing a hamster or small rodent cage, so i’m pretty sure they dumped an animal in their. DO NOT buy anything, any services from them. They do neglect their animals. I’ve seen sick cats, sick animals in the store before and they are obviously not getting veterinary care, or the care they need. Seen dead fish floating in the tanks too.
It seems to me they don’t have the money for veterinary care, or simply choose not to. Why else would they throw animals away? They probably got too sick & are literally being thrown away instead of helped!! Literally letting them get sick until it’s so bad & that’s when they throw them away!!

Actually they don't just throw them away... They have a backroom they keep all sick and dying animals in and they just leave them back there with no food or water until they die. I had a family member thats used to work at pet smart that told me awful stories about that place. That place actually triggered her anxiety and depression more before she quit pet smart

They also just leave the dead ones still on the shelves. I bought one & picked out about 3 or 4 dead ones & brought to the register 😑

Pet smart is actually known for doing things like things all the time with their smaller animals (hamsters, fish, lizards, etc)
