Good review. As the owner of a 2004 CRV with 305, 000 miles on it, I can attest to their reliability. We've had it since it had 95, 000 miles, and I've changed the oil with synthetic oil every 3000-4000 miles ever since. I've had very few problems overall. The weakest parts are the headlight bulbs, and brake calipers.

I just bought a 2005 CR-V EX in Redondo red with 4wd and a 5 speed manual transmission. I got it for $4500. It's a 1 owner car that has been meticulously maintained since it was purchased new back in 2005. At the time that I bought it the car, which was back in July, the car had 200k on the odometer and is now at 208k. It also has a clean title with no accidents and best of all no rust! Something that is extremely rare for one of these cars that has spent it's entire lifetime here in Southern New England!

i own the '06 CR-V with 2, 2 i-ctdi and 6-gear mechanic for almost one&half year. 217k km (Europe). all liquids and oils changed within the first month. i like this car for high seats over the road, for great visibility, for good clearance gap, for enough inner storage volume and - for sure - for this great folding table. 😁
140hp and 340N*m give decent dynamic and powerful acceleration as for almost 2k-kilos car. rear flat floor - is very pleasant option for traveling on back seats, as well as adjusted rear seat upper part.
for now was replaced steering rod ball joint end and i have cleared and sprayed with protective cover all body underpart - but mostly for preserving it for future, no significant problems for now.

in overall - very good and reliable family multipurpose suv.
my respect to Honda engineers! 👍

I owned a 2004. Loved it. It did everything I asked of it. The only reason I don't have it anymore is it was traded in for a 2008 CR-V AWD. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

currently driving a 200k+ 2006 CRV, have replaced axels, wheel bearings, suspension bushings, struts, serpentine belt and tensioner, brake rotors when moving to a midwestern town, and really not much else aside from basic maintenance. the only thing i can attest to is headlights needing replacement. tested it multiple times for electrical problems but the driver side headlamp goes out at least once every year even with higher quality bulbs.

I’ve had mine since 2008, it’s been a beast. I’ve replaced the catalytic converter 3 times though. There’s a little rust by the gas cap, but otherwise she looks pretty good for a daily. She’s got 153k miles on her and is going strong.

My 2004 crv only gets 19 mpg. I drive it very easy. It's brutally on fuel costing nearly $10 gallon in Canada

I'm glad you mentioned info about the rear differential. I've had a slight shutter when doing hard right or left turns and just caulked it up to the four wheel dive system and thought it was normal. I'll have it checked out.

The starter is known to go on these as well. Mine was giving me weaker starts here and there giving me fair waring. I love my 02 crv like family. 250, 000 miles and counting

I have a 2004 197K miles. Bought with 82k in 2012. 5 speed manual. Ive had the clutch replaced and I believe the fly wheel replaced in 2016 a second time in 2019. I think when replaced the shop did a poor job, the second replacment holding steady. My brake calipers have seized up at different times.. AC unit was replaced in 2016. Everything else is good.

My 2005 crv I’ve owned for 2 1/2 years
I’ve put roughly 50 k
Now has 165k

I have replaced knock sensor, rear calipers, Serpentine belt, vtec Solenoid. I’ve spent approximately 1200 that’s including oil changes
Currently needs a couple minor things done, but nothing major

Honestly, a very reliable car very dependable. It’s been my delivery car
You can’t beat honda at Toyota reliability, one of the best cars I’ve ever owned

Crv What a dependable little engine Very straightforward simple technology

I like how the video shows a couple that have been lifted and had all terrain tires mounted. I'm looking for one now and that's what I plan on doing, making a sort of urban assault/beach vehicle, if I score a nice one. I need something to keep my 2010 Fit company.

Before burying one... make sure the mounts where the rear axle bolts on are not rotted away... sad...

I picked up an 05 with 196k miles this January, and had the cat replaced. It still throws an oxygen sensor code but runs great, 23 mpg combined, AC works, transmission shifts fine, starts at 0 degree F, going to need front calipers this summer. Body is clean and straight. Not a single rattle. A mechanic told me the axle carrier will need replacing but then backed off when I pressed them on it.

It’s like a time machine, with one intermittent wiper speed, a cassette tape player, and the ability to reach in from outside to turn the key and start it. Great little vehicle. I needed a cheap, reliable transport while my car is on extended leave at the shop, and bought this partly on its reputation. I was going to sell it once I get my car back this spring but now I’m having second thoughts!
