Gosh, I've been saying "family" _phonetically_ (i.e., Russian style) for years 😅😅

I advise you to learn Arabic Fusha, because it is magnificent one

You should emphasize that you're speaking *British* English.

The pronuciation of these three words in the US has no silent letters.

Even in your awkward (play on words intended) saying of the first syllable of "awkward" ("awk-") you hear the diphthong, i.e. the letter "w" is distinctly pronounced in both syllables.

Please hear my plea. Is there a ten thousand common words book in English that contains the word and its meaning and the word in context. Please give me the name of the book

I see a lot that English teacher put the "pronunciation sound" in letters..
But, that doesn't work unless you first teach the sounds in English.
Example, in English doble "oo" make a sound "u" in Spanish, but if we don't know it we will pronounce it as "oh".

I always thought the American pronounciation was different from the British.
