For some odd reason, Microsoft took that option away(at least for my Xbox Series X) with the more recent system updates, thus making it even more frustrating to be able to install hard copy base games without the annoying "installation stopped" errors.

for anyone that has the problem where it's not showing up, go to settings-system-storage devices then when you there on the left it says change installation locations click on that then you can change it.

It’s actually absurd that I cannot play series x/s games on a external hard drive
