The all-new Nissan Navara maintains the brand’s turbodiesel 2,5-litre four-cylinder mill as used in the previous-generation model. As per the brand’s claims, this produces 140 kW and 450 N.m of torque. This is quite a bit more than the Toyota Hilux 2,4 GD-6’s claimed output of 110 kW and 400 N.m of torque.

Regardless, we thought we would pit the two locally built Japanese bakkies up against one another to see which is faster in a quarter-mile drag race. Both 4x4 bakkies make use of an automatic transmission with the Navara employing a seven-speed and the Hilux, a six-speed torque converter.

But if you debadge everything Toyota loves flock to the Nissan they just won’t swap over due to brand loyalty while Nissan is just as reliable and better ride and comfort for the buck spent

I own a nissan terra 2019, i have a friend who has 2.8 fortuner and dmax 3.0 2019 model we tried a drag race nissan terra is the quickest next is the fortuner and dmax

I don’t understand this my 2016 Navara with the 2.5 engine beat the 2.8 hilux badly, the only van that was quicker than mines was the Amarok

try using the navara's semi manual mode, it will be able to extract more speed. nissan's automatic is very sluggish compared to toyota.

U cant win with navara on drag race...try it with extra more meters...even if u use your power mode...navara will still win
