GhostBSD is a user-friendly desktop operating system based on FreeBSD. Its default desktop is MATE, but a separate community edition with Xfce is available too. It also features an OpenRC init system, a selection of commonly used software, a rolling-release development model, and a bootable live image with an intuitive graphical system installer.

This is the best and easiest to use BSD 'distro', my only complaint is the Software Station that keeps pausing while I am typing, so that I install Octopkg instead. The installer of the latest version not working properly and failed in the middle, so that I installed the last version then updated it and worked great.

I don't see a big difference with regular FreeBSD + XFCE desktop. Looks pretty similar.
