Canon EOS 300 - The Amazing Film Camera You've Never Heard of

Показать описание
The Canon EOS 300 is a camera that I have used for the past year or some. My review goes over some of the aspects of the camera that make it unique, because with the 300, we are able to combine new canon lenses with a old Canon film camera. My favorite combo is to put a 35mm Sigma on the camera in order to get the best film camera portrait results, you can see them along the video. Thanks for watching and make sure to check out my latest podcast!

since my Contax T2 just died, I will use the 300 with a 40mm STM as a point and shoot replacement.

Thanks for this excellent video. I have a Rebel 2000 which I think is the same as the camera in your video. It is kind of cheap and plastic, but it works great with the Canon lenses I have.

i bought one today before i saw this video, it was really cheap, really good deal with 28-80 and 80-200 lenses, i finished half a roll in the house just to check out the flash (kodak 200 expired) and it actually is a very fun camera to use

I got this camera too. What I like so much is the autofocus, which my older analog cameras lack. I'm also very much interested in doing long exposures (30 seconds) and double exposures with it. Have you tried exposure bracketing with this camera yet? What are your thoughts on shooting bracketed on film and post processing these shots? And loading film. Wow, amazing!

You can still buy the batteries. I have seen them in stores even.

Oh and the camera is highly underrated. I don't understand why people pay to money for a AE or A-1 or something like that. I just bought 2 of these plus an extra 1000f for 5 euro of 12.15 euro including shipping.

I just finished a roll of Fuji 400 in my Kiss III this morning. lol
The Kiss III is Japan's version of the 300. The EOS 2000 is the version that was sold on USA. The only difference, really, is the Kiss III has panorama mode. Which I would never use. Great photos. Thanks for sharing.

Wow, beautiful picutres! Now I'm even more glad that I found this camera at home. My mom found this camera somewhere in Germany.
I never used film camera in my life, but from now I will for sure!
I need your help mate, I hope you can help me out.
I have TAMRON AF ASPHERICAL XR (IF) 28-200MM 1:3.8-5.6 MACRO and of top of that i found something B+W 62 010 UV-Haze 1x MRC, I have no idea what my equipment can do, and is it worth it for begginers.

What goes unnoticed by many is the fact that most AF plastic fantastic cemaras of the late 80's and 90's were equipped with very competent shutter mechanism that easily went to 1/2000s. If you take film camera with any 50mm f1.4 lens and try shooting 100ASA film at f1.4 on a sunny day you will soon realize that 1/1000s shutter speed is too slow and pictures come out overexposed. As much as I love the metal bodies of Nikon FE/FM along with all sorts of Minolta, Yashica, Konica, Fujica and Olympus gems, they all were limited to 1/1000s maximum shutter speed. On top of that all those ancient cameras unless they are serviced properly can not reach their designed maximum 1/1000 and instead often top out at 1/700s. The best bargain in the plastic fantastic analog camera realm is a Nikon f-801, which has a shutter mechanism able to meter at 1/8000s, which even by todays DSLR or mirrorless standards is unsurpassed limit of even the best crop sensor shutter mechanisms. The F-801 was made for professional and today available for peanuts. Great video and subject matter otherwise.

Thank you for this video!! Do you have a tutorial on how to shoot with film cameras, specifically this one? I'm buying my first roll and don't want to mess anything up! Thank you :)

I just bought one for 10 bucks including shipping. Don’t know how much I’ll be using it (got a decent mirrorless and a 70's SLR), but maybe turn-of-the-millenium stuff will be the next big thing? Anyway, I’m excited to try the convenience of a camera like this with film. Might end up really awesome, might end up feeling really boring. I’ll see. =)

Hi Isaac, thank you for the video! I have a question: how did you put the Helios 44mm on the EOS 300? My father has the same lens on an old Zenit TTL and I recently bought an EOS 300… :D

Hi! Can we change lenses while there is a film on the camera? If we change lens will the film burn? Thank you for this video from Turkey ☺️
