Peter died a few days before my dad passed away in March 2019. My mom discovered this song shortly thereafter and she loved it and listened to it all the time. She passed away in late August of 2020 (almost 19 months after dad) and I chose this song to be played at her funeral.

What I loved about Peter is he admitted his voice was at the "bottom of the totem pole" at the Monkees' beginning but worked at improving through the years and got better and better. I followed him thru those years, loving his voice just based on the few snippets he was allowed to sing on those 60's Monkee albums and he did not disappoint. Loved his only solo album, his Two Man Band with James Lee Stanley and his Shoe Suede Blues band. Wish he had more leads on this Good Times Album but this song is a real standout. I heard him do Me and Magdalena with Micky in concert and it was lovely. Liked it better than the official one. Peter really shines on this posted song and in concerts. I will always love his voice and entertaining stage performances. Thanks for this post!

Peter York died one year ago the 21st. My husband Dale died one year ago nine days after Peter on March 2nd 2019. I mourn him him so much. My heart is broken. Dale was 68, so we grew up with The Monkees. And my son and I still watch them Sunday on MeTv
