This might be the most terrifying looking take on the Flatwoods monster I have ever seen. Massive props to Mikey. The part where the monster is looking into the windshield legit made me jump in my seat.

Car breaks down, Flatwoods monster appears, fixes car by resting it's hands on it and disappears.
Truly a surprise mechanic.

The original depiction was already nightmare fuel, and your artist took it further beyond

Fun fact: Flatwoods Monster is present as a boss in many old retro videogames made in Japan. Something to do with Japanese culture´s fascination with cryptids.

My Grandma lived in Braxton County at the time, she still has the original newspaper from when this happened.

The artwork for this one is especially excellent - the interpretation of the monster might be the best I've ever seen.

One of my buddies told me a story once while we were both in the Naval Air Force working on the Ronald Reagan. We had struck up a conversation about the paranormal, and he had a few stories to tell. He grew up in rural Arizona on a farm close to a wooded area (I can’t remember where in Arizona he lived). It takes a while to get to his home from the main road, he recounts. His uncle was driving down a long road to get home. It was already getting late, so it was dark out. As he was driving, he noticed, off to the right of the road, a dog lying down. Nothing too strange, right? Well, a few minutes pass by, and he sees the exact same thing: the same brown dog laying in the same position on the right side of the road. He says, “Nope, I’m taking the other way home.” He then proceeds to make a U-turn. The next day, he comes to find out that a little further down the road he was driving on, someone had crashed and died because a dog bolted across. He (friend) says (uncle) he saw a skinwalker that night.

West Virginian here. So far you've covered the Mothman and the Flatwoods Monster. I can't wait for you to cover the Grafton Monster, that one is the most mysterious of the West Virginia cryptids. There's one that isn't listed, it's a bizarre encounter my sister claims to have had. She claims to have seen a naked man with the head of a horse running through our neck of the woods. This was before those stupid rubber horse heads were a thing, she swore she saw it's mouth move when it neighed.

Here in Minnesota we have the Abominable Doncha-Know Man. He chases you around with tater-tot hotdish, says, “you betcha” a lot and takes two hours to say goodbye.

I’ve been to Flatwoods WV.. went and looked at the site as best we could since it’s on private property.
There’s a graveyard on a hill near the sight.. the museum in town has a bunch of great stuff in it. And side note, there’s a Bigfoot Museum just down the street from the Flatwoods Monster museum

Great video! I'm from West Virginia so I love the Mountain State's own ET. To people interested in learning more, I recommended the book "The Braxton County Monster: The Cover-Up of the Flatwoods Monster Revealed" by Frank C. Feschino Jr.

More importantly, I hope you put one of those great Flatwoods Monster illustrations on a T-shirt some day!

This channel and wartime stories have both become my go to evening ritual. Genuinely you 2 fellas make the highest quality content and neither of you get nearly enough praise for it. From the audio engineering, to the art work, to the insane amount of research, you guys kill it every single time. I like to think of each channel as related but like 2 really different siblings. You're more like hanging around sipping coffee on the porch in the rain kind of stories and Luke is like a vet you go camping with who just hits you with the rawest campfire story of your life and made it tough to sleep lol but both equally delightful

Dandadan episode 2 led me here. I was curious if bedtime stories covered this story, but kinda surprised it's one of the newer ones.

Can you guys make a video showing behind-the-scenes of making and uploading a video from start to finish? I have always wondered how you guys do it. I have no doubt that alot of time and hard work goes into making each video. Thanks! Love your work everyone at Bedtime Stories

Dear god that thing is terrifying.

What on earth could it have been. If it is indeed real.

I live due East of Flatwoods, about 45 minute drive on the rural roads. There are many things that people see/hear that we cannot explain.
