Love that you decided to "take on" this topic! I used to believe that a lot of the cable "hype" was just that - hype (if not snake oil). I mean how could one put in such a significant investment into "wires". Well, I've changed my mind. How? By listening to my ears. I recently purchased upscale interconnects for my Denon CD player to my Rogue Audio amp. Wow! The significant and audible improvement made my entire collection "brand new", with incredible detail, depth of scale, texture and accuracy of bass, warmth and accuracy in vocals - mid-range. The high end became more crisp and audibly accurate. Improvements were universal and especially noticeable in all forms of acoustic strings and voices. Likewise, all of my orchestral music collection became outstanding. Small start-up company, Darwin Cable Company. I'd recommend anyone give them a try. (Oh, PS I only use Blue Jeans 12 gauge speaker cable.)

Why is gold over nickel over steel bad? If I'm stuck with RCA cables what are inexpensive GOOD cables made of?
