This is bullshit. I'm just hearing about this a few days before the 31st and that's just not possible for millions of people. If they don't continue to pay my SSDI benefits still in April I will lose my house and be in financial chaos. How's this stress helping my disabilities and my heart health. 😡

If you are filling for SS Benifits for the first time, they need to verify who you are, either online or in person. In person you need to make an appointment. If you already recieve SS and you need to change your information on a direct deposit, this needs to be done in person (appt.only) or through an account that you have set up verifying your ID.

I called Social Security office on Friday. I was told that we DO NOT need to come in and verify our identification. They told me that if there is any information that the administration needs they will contact us IN WRITING informing us of the changes needed. I asked her if they had the correct information on file and she read what they had in the system one me, which was all correct. To reiterate, I asked her if there was any needed updates and she said not unless I had received a letter or phone call.
