I remember that Windows CEMENT mod, I was actually good friends with the people who made it. I actually made my own modified version of Windows called Windows NG (No Good Edition), but it has unfortunately been lost to time.

I remember building my own versions of Windows XP SP2 back in late '00s. I called it Windows ME (for Multimedia Edition since it was the MediaCenter edition) for the giggles.
The main feature was that it was able to start a game of Call of Duty right away the second the desktop appeared after the installation because it had the drivers pre-installed and games, Office and codecs.
I was literally installing and formatting the PC four times per day during that week I built it xD.

I was disappointed that Taste of Blood wasn't the boot-up sound (mostly since it reminds me of the Windows 98 start-up sound), but overall, this is a pretty interesting trip through time. As someone who loves Portal, I can completely get why you did this.

So much of Windows 98 is HTML/CSS/JS, there is a ton more opportunity for Portal-izing this OS. Great job and keep the vidz coming :D

2:04 I actually tried it. It was initially based on Windows 98, then rebased to Windows 2000.

I feel as if multiple things that I enjoy that are not related to each other are now related to each other. I enjoy Portal, and I enjoy old versions of Windows, and I watch Michael MJD, and he makes a video on Windows 98 with portal elements. To this day I feel like the people from the heavens are trying to make me interested in stuff so that in the future the things they made me like appear to join forces.

I remember installing a modified windows 98 at school and somehow they managed to get the boot image replaced with an animated logo, never figured out how they did it even while looking at every system file on that version (though i did find the image (it was a image array (about 32 images in a grid as one bmp file).
