The Soviet army of WW2 isn't the Russian army of today, because the Soviet army contained the Ukrainians who were fighting for their own lands! Contrastingly, the current Russian army is a group of less than motivated draftees being forced to fight with outdated/used weapons, while slogging thru 30+ years of crony government corruption.

Any decent country that loses its civilians, will go harder at the enemy. You want a fight then theres a force waiting for you, civilians are a no go in any situation.

It’s unfortunate that the Russian citizens aren’t subjected to this same kind of treatment. I find solace in knowing that Ukraine has a bright and prosperous future while Russia has absolutely nothing to look forward to except its own downfall.

In WW2 Britain and Germany took an awful pounding in the major cities but it didn't stop the fight.
Wars are won or lost in the battlefield, not in the cities. Putler should take note.

Putin doesn't own the Black Sea. Ukraine is justified to defend itself against Russia. I am so glad Ukraine is fighting so diligently. Victory belongs to Ukraine. The rest of the world needs to step up and assure that the grain can continue to be delivered. Help Ukraine with everything they need.

I tend to think that this war will be looked upon as the creation of a modern Ukrainian state. Shared hardships will create a mythos of unity that solidifies the boundaries.

Basically the Ukrainians are adapting more quickly than the Russians. It’s the power of a free people united by a common mission versus the ossification of command and control that suppresses motivation and creativity. It’s an important lesson - let’s all keep it in mind.
