As an S21 ultra user, using just the standard screen protector that comes with the phone and NO phone case (my hands aren't big enough), I've dropped my phone quite a few times throughout the past... 9 months? Probably about 7-8 times, each time around waist-height. I can proudly say that there are no major damages to the phone. The screen protector has scratches, but that's normal. even keys in a pocket can scratch the protector. The screen itself is flawless. The glass back is just perfection. The only damages are small nicks in the aluminum frame on the corners, but those are barely visible and don't get in the way of holding the phone. So great overall safety and durability.
One extra info: I finaly bought and attached a phone ring thingy 2 months ago, and haven't dropped the phone once every since. So yeah, to people who want the large phones with small/medium sized hands, i recommend getting those phone ring stands on the back

Moral of the story, it doesn’t matter what phone you have. Just get a good case from mous or a rugged case and a screen protector if you care about your new 1000 dollar purchase

In the face drop, iPhone's screen was shattered all over the screen whereas S21's screen was only chapped at the bottom edge. I think S21 performed better
