Hey Nick, thanks for the video. My dad had lost his 8 Plus a few months before the 14 series came out so he bought the best phone available at the time in the 13 Pro Max since it was also the only big phone option.

My dad always has Bluetooth on because of his hearing aids, he mainly streams music on his phone and uses Google Maps. He definitely doesn’t use or notice the pro features like the 120 hertz screen or micro camera. The most usage on his phone is maps because he does deliveries for work, his battery health is at 88%. Both my parents always leave their 5G on because they forget how to turn it off, they’ve been shown several times but don’t remember

2 questions for you Nick; my Dad’s Pro Max is at 88% battery health and starting to require more charging during the day. Do you think it’d be worth trading up for a base model plus considering the info I provided? Second question I had was if maybe I could use shortcuts to turn off my parents cellular when connected to WiFi and to turn off low power mode when charging? They both leave it on basically all the time then forget how to turn it on or off, my mom leaves it on more so because her 12 mini is at the point where it doesn’t get through a full day for her.

I will say, I have the 13PM, and it’s a thick heavy boy, even compared to my S22 Ultra. That’s being said, I’ll wait until the iPhone 17PM because I feel like most of the upgrades are very incremental at best, and it’s not worth spending extra just for a dynamic island and action button. I’m hoping by next year, Apple will improve the optical cameras on the Pro Max version because unless it can zoom further than my S22 Ultra, I’ll just use that for photos!!

I chose 120HZ screen OVER any 60 HZ screen phone all the time, 60Hz looks choppier all the time feels like a vintage screen, plus you interact with your screen 100% and that's the most important thing, macro lens and 3x optical zoom are a bonus when you need it.
