Buying A Car Doesn't Have To Suck™️
We had a HORRIBLE DA for this day but we got some pretty impressive times on the drag strip from the 2020 Corvette. Enjoy the video. Can we get Mrs. Chevy Dude in the car?

7.23 to the 1/8 is fantastic..remember, this is a street car, on PS4's..1.60 60fts is awesome....and all this in stock form
.nice job Chevydude, nice job gm..and this is only the beginning!

The PDR is starting when you let off the break, the time at the track does not start till you break the beams..that is where it is getting off on the times.

Their burnout was just as they described. Back into the water box, traction control off, pull both paddles in, floor it, dump the clutch and do a rolling burnout. It's more of a scrub as described. With the PS4s you don't want a big smokey burnout anyway. They don't like all that heat.a short rolling burnout is perfect. It puts a little heat in and cleans the tire. That's all you need. That and drop your pressures down to mid to low 20's. I've had good luck at about 23psi running the same 305 Michelines.

Fantastic Corvette. Great Driving. I think the c7 is for the drag strip and your c8 is made for the race track. Awesome cornering and control through the curves. I had a brand new 1968 GTO and I ran it on the 1/4 mile in 1968. My best time was 14.51 @95.3 miles per hour. The very best GTO had a balanced and bueprinted motor it ran at 12.64 . This c8 out of box from the factory is incredible. I think you should use different tires for the back when you want to do burnout and then run the quater mile. In 1968, one of my buddies had a 67 vette with the famous 427 and this is the car that is sought after. Red with a white top convert. He ran my back bumper on my 68 gto to find my top speed and he said it showed on his speedometer 142.. Then he left me. That 67 vette was awesome.. The fastest factory stock car I ever drove was a 1969 Dodge Super BEE 440 sixpack. Incredible.

These C8's are awesome..

The PDR starts timing as soon as the car moves. Drag strip doesn't start timing until you cross the timing lights. That's one reason they don't match. On a side note, find an open area and do a donut/drift to warm tires before you go to the line. You can also warm tires with hard accelerations and braking.

You have to remember that you are breaking a beam at the track. That's where the difference is coming from. Plus 11.2 to 11.4 is probably 1/4 - 1/2 inch difference at that speed. Chevy Knocked the C8 out of the park.

Wow, you went to my hometown! Technically, you were in Jackson, SC, but Aiken (born and raised there) is close enough. I had a lot of great times at that track back in the 80's when I was a teenager. I hope you enjoyed the area and the locals treated you well. Damn shame I didn't know you where there. I could have photographed the Chevy Dude in action!

The 1.67 sixty foot is what makes this car. That's an amazing time on streets. Definitely the result of engine placement.

Both times are probably correct. The drag strip has about a 1 foot distance for reaction time before the E.T. counter starts. The PDR starts the time as soon as the gas or brake pedals move I assume.

If you watch the Cleetus McFarland video where he test drives a C8 with GM representatives, the reps did show him how to do a burnout in the C8! Watch it and you will learn how, it is explained well in the video. I can do them no problem with mine! The C8 does move out fairly well! I think overall the car is excellent and worth every penny spent!
