Given the fact that it was initially supposed to only fly 5 times, 72 flights is a quite an achievement!

The little helicopter that could…to the end.

That it could fly at all in a 1% atmosphere is crazy!

It's confirmed, the Martians have anti-drone weaponry.

The fact that this thing will be inside a museum on mars in 2113

They gotta either put her in a museum on mars when we get to that point or we gotta bring her back

NASA: Designs things to work for a short period of time. The things they make: last for ten times longer then the design was built for.

I agree with others who say. GIVE IT ONE MORE TEST FLIGHT. Even if it flips over we get the data on how it tried to correct for a broken wing. Right now it's dead on the ground. Get one more burst of test data!
It has served its mission Above and Beyond what was expected. Well done. But give it one last flight!

That’s really cool, I knew that mars had just a bit of its atmosphere still but I wouldn’t have thought it’d be dense enough to support propeller flight

Wait, it has been 3 years already? Little fella did well.

It’s pretty insane that a helicopter could work on mars, the amount of Calculations that went into that to work on the first build is mind blowing

When you consider the distance involved this is amazing.

My father is turning 90 this year. He grew up right after the great depression, in a house with one room, a dirt floor, and a single lightbulb hanging from a wire in the middle of the room.

Talking with him, he can barely even comprehend what's going on today. The idea that we have (had) a functioning helicopter on Mars is just one of a million things that he has a difficult time even comprehending.

Every piece of equipment on Mars has lasted so much longer than it was ever designed to. It's a true testament to the engineers behind all of it

It’s crazy that we even got those things to mars in the first place!
