I have used Core Temp in the past. I am currently using Fan Control. It will also show temperature in the taskbar as well as set the fan speed for different temperatures.

I put this on every machine. Great tool. Consider donating to the creator as well. I have.

i don't really understand how this isn't a standard thing like they did with GPU temp....

the Fahrenheit option is weird. I'm in the US and measure every temp in Fahrenheit except for when it comes to PC components. Celsius for pc components is just engrained in my head and honestly i couldn't even tell you what a Celsius temp is in Fahrenheit lol.

a video to show what services are safe to disable/set manual
Using a custom windows 10 pro iso and running under 90 processes with all my programs on but I'd like to see how windows react to services change after windows updates

Whatcha Brian. Been using HWinfo & Aida64 extreme for years. My primary concern for all of these utilities are the constant polling of S.M.A.R.T. attributes which can overheat & put unnecessary wear and tear on the devices controller. Good post! 👍👍👍

not really relevant but for some reason i was reminded of the widgets that we used to get in days long gone. were not around for long but i used several of them and miss them.

I personally use msi afterburner because it has the option to use little bar graphs for a smaller visual depiction for CPU usage and such and you have other monitoring display options for the rest of your pc. you can even add other data sources from other programs. There is an issue with these taskbar/tray style icons though and that win 11 doesn't seem to respect your positioning. it will randomly order icons in the tray or taskbar and not respect your carefully placed previous positions

I use throttlestop for that, set as a scheduled task for auto startup.

Hey @Britec09, Brian, can you just use the standalone package to get this to work the same rougher as the Windows Executable program?
I am yet to try, and an answer may save me the time if known. Thanks & Peace

Good one Brian I have been using this software for some time but not being a gamer I do not use it that often and my readout is just a simple one with just the temps shown. I do have HWinfo installed as well which I find like you say more informative😉
