Rick Steves' Europe Travel Guide © 2016 | We'll tour Romania's vibrant capital, Bucharest, with its "Little Paris of the East" architecture and lingering reminders of a brutal communist dictator. Then we'll head into Transylvania, where we'll visit fortified churches, cobbled merchant towns like Sighișoara, and castles made famous by an imported German king and the real-life Dracula. Finally we'll explore Maramureș, where everyday life still feels like an open-air folk museum. #ricksteves #ricksteveseurope #romania

I once had Romanian neighbors move into my neighborhood and they happened to be some of the most compassionate people I ever met. They introduced me to new dishes, new linguistics, taught me about their culture and experiences. They were so family oriented as well and every single one of them had respect for their elders and were truly good folks. They ended up moving years forward but I was able to run into one of the older sons named David at a grocery store many years later and had the chance to catch up and everything. Romanian people have a special place in my heart

Just sad that Romania is having this negative image worldwide. Forget for just one second about politics and look deeper into the country. I was really impressed. Romania has indeed a brighter future. Greetings from your smaller sister, Bulgaria.

Romania is a nice country with nice people living there. Greeting from Bulgaria to our best and respected neighbor! I have Romanian friends, with some my family meets multiple times a year; the parents are friends, the kids too.
I hope one day will be able to visit Romania. So far, have not had the chance. Many Romanians visit Bulgarian sea and mountain resorts. Usually, they come with their cars, often these are family visits.
Good luck with building better lives and better country! Often our countries go parallel, and if one is doing good, the other one does too.

My grandmother lives in a village in the Apuseni mountains- I live in the USA, but I've visited Romania, and her. Hands down, I cannot think of a more calming, naturally beautiful place. Its like living in a postcard.

Romania is one of the most underrated countries in Europe. It's cheap for travelers, has beautiful sights, and a rich heritage and culture.

I'm learning Romanian not to become fluent but as a fascination. Such a beautiful language and I'm slowly watching videos about Romania. Seems like a unique country with its own beauty. Salut romana❤

I went as a German volunteer to many countries and all over Europe but I think Romania country side is beautiful, it truly makes you feel like in one of those magic ferry tales. The energy of the land is so healing with awesome spring water and such down to earth people. I can only hope Romanians is going to keep it like that without turning it into some hotel or large tourist developments that will kill the ecosystem because Romania is the only country in Europe now with virgin forests and natural beauty. I know that are a lot of Bangladeshi returning or moving back to Romania and I am buying a house in one of those villages but it looks like the price is going up every year. 10 years ago you could buy land and a house for about 5.000 Euros now you can not find anything for under 30.000 I found something in that area which is beautiful and hope that bureaucratic system get better. Cheers to all Romanians from Germany

Romania...my love!
Maybe is not the best or the most beautiful country for others but for me it’s HEAVEN !
And we, romanians are a tolerant and good people!
If you traveling outside the cities you can find the beauty of life! In the West they lost the traditional and simplicity of life...every body just run after more money!
Come to visit Romania...without bad influence...just come with open hard!
