I don't think teams have forgotten that Daniel was booted from what is now the best team on the grid McLaren, I think Red Bull wanted him as a reserve driver and to do marketing originally but then they gave him a chance in the lower team but I don't think their intention to promote him was ever there unless he was doing miraculous in the other car which he hasn't.

Very interesting that Red Bull could be dumping Ricciardo mid-season. Since Canada, Danny Ric has been the better driver compared to Yuki, on average. Even though somehow Checo has bought himself a seat for another year or two, let's remember - this is Red Bull guys!

One thing that is often forgotten when comparing DR and SP is their preferred car set-up. DR's preferred set-up is very close to MV's, a strong front end, while SP prefers more support from the rear end.
