Fun Story: One time I walked into a knife shop and was just looking around. A man behind the counter noticed me browsing the glass display cases and very helpfully approached.
"Is that a Cold Steel AD-15 in your pocket?"he asked, nodding to the AD-15 indeed clipped in my pocket. I turned and responded, "No, I'm just very happy to see you." He rolled his eyes and turned back around, walking away. However, an older man behind the counter erupted into laughter and the two of us spent a very enjoyable quarter hour looking at and talking about knives😂
Long story short, I like the new segment name!

I used to work at a Chesapeake Knife and Tool in Boynton Beach FL at the Mall. That place was a trip. I opened it with some guys from corporate when I was like 19. Good times.

I used to conceal carry a colonel blades low vz. I don't think they're still being produced, but it was a pretty cool knife. You could carry it appendix style because it had a pistol grip style handle so there was no way anyone would know that you had a fixed blade on you.

I stopped carrying it, because you can produce a folder just as fast, and it doesn't draw weird stares as much when used for regular tasks in public. It still has a place on my backpack behind my ifak though. Love that knife.

Emler hit a homerun with the Sea Snake! Great little EDC fixed or even a neck knife!

Hey DCA, i’ve been very interested in the new detent joint style of knives and now that there's quite a few on the market, you should make a video showcasing them. Let's make the detent joint class more well known!

Great question and answer about being a designer and looking at things from the past with maybe a different perspective👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

For Tom’s question about a concealable fixed blade, please look at the Cold Steel Mini Tac Bowie. At less than $19, the 8Cr blade is stainless and thinner than the BK11, yet both slicier and stabbier than either the Sea Horse or the BK11. It’s plenty tough for whatever you might put a neck knife through and the sheath is streamlined for minimal printing through a shirt. It has lots of belly for food prep and for most chores. I wear mine every day and touch it up with a steel or strop. Ergos are great!

I’ve had a BK11 for many years and it’s never let me down. Awesome little knife. I got the upgrade of micarta handles as well.

I have a delica 4 and I feel like it would be a great recommendation for old hands. Not a real "walk and talk" but it does only close half way when pressing the lockback, keeping fingers away from the blade

Hello DCA,
Hooe you're having a wonderful day!
I have several gil hibben knives that I use regularly. They're different hibben designed throwing knives. He does create a lot of fantasy / movie based knives.
But the throwing knives are very functional. I've used them on a regular basis, some of the best out there and at a great price point too.

I bought the "le duck" a whole ago and while I'm usually not crazy about outdoor edge's knives, that one makes an awesome fixed edc.
It's a great knife, but yeah if you have large hands, might not be the best fit.

As far as Gill Hibben, I had one of his throwing knives and it performed wonderfully. It didn't take long for me to become pretty good with it. Unfortunately, thanks to my wonderful kiddos, the knife is now submerged in the dirt somewhere in the 20 acres behind the house.
