I just started climbing seriously a month ago, and your videos are super helpful. Most of the time I've noticed crimps are there to help you stay close to the wall and stay balanced, not to put all your weight on.

The last point was really helpful for me. When using jugs on V0-V2 I learned to always keep my arms as straight as possible to force myself to primarily use my legs to drive movement. Instinctually I've probably been trying to carry this over to crimpy holds and they've felt impossible as a result of the weight placement. Don't know why I didn't think of this. Thanks!

Nice video! It's amazing what injuries can force you to do. As much as they suck and can be frustrating to recover from, I find that they also present opportunities where certain strengths/techniques can really be honed in on and improved upon. And most of all, test a lot of patience :P. Thanks for the vid!

Glad to hear your feeling better! Love the video. Very clear basic instructions for early climbers and good advice for those climbers who ignore your advice.. 😆

Good suggestions! Hurt my finger a couple months ago too and went all in on technique practice. Hope you're fully recovered soon!

Thanks, pulled a muscle in my finger today gripping a crimp way to hard and twisting my fingers at the same time. Will try to improve next time :D

I was wondering where youve been! Sucks you got injured but thats cool you can take a positive from it and have been working that technique game. I need to do the same. 😃

Simple points that we all forget. Placement of and trusting feet can never be over emphasized. Did that today by coincidence-if I didn’t place my feet right, to both take weight off and angle body-I would not have made it passed either of my climb cruxes for the sends. 🙃

Almost forgot, another great challenge to learn would be the straddle planche, this is a very challenging and core orientated move that will take time and progression but a rewarding result. 🤘🤜👊👍💪

Hey 👋🏼
Do you have a moonboard in ur gym?

Yesterday I had the idea, that it would be pretty cool to watch someone explain how to climb a boulderproblem and then try the same boulder with those tips in mind. 😊

I 100% agree with you... and

90% of stats are made up, hehe. I would say if the climb is half the grade you can do you most likely won't need full crimp power.
Great video.
