Werner also makes a Type 1AA ladder with a 375# capacity. In all fairness, this should have been the ladder to compare to the Gorilla. Just saying. Just bought the Werner shown here for a small job and now I'm thinking of all kinds of ways to use it instead of the 24' extension ladder I have. It does weigh 54#. Good review otherwise, The Werner 1AA was $319 @ Home Depot yesterday.

Sorry, but nothing pointed out on this “comparison” as a plus for Gorilla makes any difference. You didn’t even compare comparable ladders. Had you compared the Gorilla 375# to the Werner #375 you would found virtually identical large rivets. I looked at both brands this week and bought the more expensive Werner yesterday. I did not at all like the plastic height adjustment knobs on the Gorilla which I could see breaking off when the ladder accidentally fell or was dropped on its side. The latches on the Werner are heavy metal, significantly heavier than the little ones on the Gorilla. The Gorilla, as you pointed out, uses a round rod brace at the bottom whereas the Werner uses 2 heavy aluminum braces on each side, which is stronger and much more stable. Or, you could have compared the Gorilla 300# (22’ on sale today at HD for $149) to the Werner 300# which might have been a fairer comparison. A worthwhile comparison would have been using the ladders, setting them up and taking them down, testing stability, etc. This was a waste of my time. I’m not usually so negative on reviews but this one was useless. I watched it to see if maybe I had overlooked something important in my ladder selection. I didn’t.

Werner makes 3 version of this 22' ladder with load capacity of 250 lbs, 300 lbs, and 375 lbs, respectively. The 375 lbs version of the Werner is a few dollars less than the 375 lbs rated Gorilla ladder. Unless the guy in the video is a structural engineer, I am not sure if his observations on stability are valid (e.g., comparing the single tube brace to the triangular brace). For me, it would have been most telling if he were to just extend both ladders to the max and climb them, and then tell us if he notices any stability differences.

The Pin that holds the ladder on the Werner is thicker. Who cares about the pin diameter that hods the spring. The pin on the Gorilla ladder is a 1/4 inch

You're reviewing a newer gorilla vs an older werner. New werner is rated for 375 each side.

On a werner multiposition you can visually see the safety pins LOCKS where the gorilla not.

The real question is why do you have two ladders

The Werner 14' at HD is rated 375 lb, not 300, the Gorilla 14' at HD is rated 375 lbs, but was sold out, Gorilla does have a 14' 300lb rated ladder. Maybe video is to old to compare apples with

Please try and know what you're talking about first all. Thanks

As The Painter I would go with the Warner simply because of stability the width at the bottom rung is very important to have!!!

Werner used to be made in Greenville, PA, where I am from. The owners got greedy and moved their manufacturing facility to Mexico. Upon lousy manufacturing, they divied up their company to back to Greenville and still kept manufacturing in Mexico. This killed the Greenville economy, which was already dying by vacated steel mills. I bought the Gorilla and I an happy with it.

Have to agree with Mark Coto. You're comparing a 1A ladder to a 1AA.

It may have been nice to actually see him use the ladders. Extend them etc… the “riveting” is interesting however I just needed to know the max height without fully opening. He didn’t extend the ladders at all. Headed to a job just wanna know if I need to make a stop. I have the Werner btw and I love it over the Gorilla because it actually feels more sturdy but that’s just me. Never had an issue hopefully I won’t. I’m about 260 plus my tools and it suits me pretty well.

that really was not it, sadly. Could you have opened them, etc.. got on top and showed which one fell over first as you leaned sideways/ Etc...

Werner ladders has more great ratings than gorilla ladder for a reason.

I have both and I like the gorilla a little better due to the faster easier adjustments. Other than that they're pretty much the same. The width is not an issue if you know how to set a ladder

Gorilla is cheaper in price and cheaper in quality, and Werner is way better, heavy duty ladder if you want to go safe and if you don't believe me go to homedepot and compare both yourself and you will see the differences.
