Kösem Sultan is a Greek woman, but she contributed a lot to the Ottoman Empire. The death of Sultan Ahmet Kösem Sultan left him an orphan. She was left alone with her 8 children. Their children were very young at that time. Kösem Sultan ruled the country like a man, it was not easy to rule a country on three continents, be it Greek or Turkish, Kösem Sultan had to be like a man.

Kösem Sultan is Greek. In fact, there is Sultan Ahmet Mosque next to Hagia Sophia in Istanbul today, Kösem especially wanted the mosque to be there. Even the tomb of Kösem Sultan is right next to Hagia Sophia, the closest Greek to Hagia Sophia.

Hurrrem Sultana and kosem never got any supports from their children and here both gave every Breath to save them but both their own children makes both Sultana weak in somewhere that even enemies unable to do so.Instead of gaining love from mother like the enemies(Mustafa, muradll, bayezid) children of both sultanas does but no they were against them: so Unfair
Murad, bayezid, Ibrahim, chihangir, against valide act= Mehmet, mehmed, kasim, were loyal to their mother and died in very young age

Kösem wanted to retire after Ibrahim's death. But the statesmen wanted her to teach Turhan who was in her early 20ies and Mehmed who was only 7 y/O. But she saw an opportunity to rule again. She was killed because people were sick and tired of her not because Turhan ordered. She wasn't even in this position to gave orders like that. People had enough of a woman ruling the Empire.
