In response to the accusations this week that Syrian government forces used chemical weapons against its own citizens, Britain, France and the United States are considering whether to intervene and in what form this action might take. Rabbi Brad Hirschfield urges caution to these leaders and argues that when it comes to deciding whether to take military action, decisions are often made from gut instinct with the facts twisted to support the decision. "The real question is not yes or no, should we or shouldn't we, but for both camps to be very clear about what motivates their decision."
