This is my favourite moment in the whole movie, De Niro kills it with that little speech.

This is actually the most realistic message in the film. The foundations of success cannot be built by a drug, but pushing yourself through things that aren't so fun.

Imagine if that man was on NZT, he'd be unstoppable

This scene is great because this is the first time anyone has told him something that he knew he couldn't rebuttal or win since he started taking nzt and they do a good job of showing that

This scene hits hard, because what DeNiro says really rings true for those that make it to that upper echelon of success. It's more than just being smart, it's about knowing the right people, bribing, threatening, doing whatever it takes to make it to that "next level".

"You'll be wanting a few toys."
*Such a double entendre.*

Great scene showing someone telling the man who thought he had it all figured out that he doesn't know jack and that whatever is getting him wins is not sustainable because you earn sustainability by playing the long game, by going through the long process. However this scene is even greater while all that is true, De Niro's character also says it because he wants to keep Bradley Cooper under him as a milking cow. Great portrayal of what humans are. Complex beings that will genuinely help you enough for you to be good but not better than them.

reminds me of a good will hunting scene where the older guy put the young man at his place by saying no matter how smart u are nothing replace life experience.

De Niro went off the script here, to adress Bradley Cooper's acting career.

for as much of a villain as he is, he makes some pretty good points

This was a great line from De Niro, it made me wonder was he really trying to keep him in check to help make him more money, or was he thinking ahead and really worried about him becoming his competition

De Nero get’s the life lesson at the end.

I dont think that was on the script, I think De niro literally said that to Bradley Cooper and they just went with it :P

De Niro's back. When I think of De Niro, this is what I think of. Lately he's been doing these "mid-life crisis" type of movies like the Fockers. They Suck! Not the movies, they are good for what they are: entertainment. But De Niro was stuck playing the retired old guy who's prestigious incognito lifestyle has boiled down to protecting his daughter from a suitor. Here De Niro is where he belongs, playing the big dog. Bradley take notes, this is how you play badass.

You hear that time and time again. Going through difficulties is how you grow

re-watching this scene makes me think of what everybody that has had to climb up must think of old money, kids that have had everything handed to them to land cushy jobs/high positions.
