My stacking strategy is like a bad rash. I’ll soothe it for a short time with a small application of precious metals, then out of the blue it flares up and has me scratching that itch till I’m bloody and miserable.

I used to stack for weight but now I think I want to flip premium coins and use profits to stack weight and repeat buying the premium stuff. A rinse and repeat strategy. I've learned a lot from you buddy and I truly appreciate all the energy you put into doing all that you do. I mean you have a wife, 2 kids, you're a teacher, and yet you cut out a huge part of your life for us with your channel. A true sacrifice that we can never repay you for. Ironically today as I bought the 3rd Black Flag coin, I flashed back to when I bought the 2nd in the series last year. That has major significance to me because your video on the 2nd coin was the 1st video of yours I watched and became a follower ever since. You're a total dude buddy and I look forward to one day meeting you and even getting you out for a round of disc golf. Be well dude. Long live your empire.

Old strategy: stack some.
New strategy: stack more!

I appreciate this video. Its super easy to get distracted by shiny Zeus coins and new Una bars, so I set a stacking focus of 4-5 gold and silver items for this year and use tube challenges to stay focussed on stacking only those items. I hope this will help me to meet my goals while still building a collection I enjoy. Cheers!

The best plans are flexible, currently due to local supply shortages and high demand I've been concentrating on finding "deals" and added gold to the stack. Thanks for posting Stormy

I had to buy a canadian maple leaf last month. Couldn't find any American eagle fractional anywhere. Then you suggested Metal Merchant. Now I'm back to gold eagles.

Just when I get set in one direction the market changes and so I pivot. My budget stays pretty consistent but what I buy is a combination of value, availability and my interest in it really in that order.

One should change their stacking strategy when (a) the market changes (b) your goals change or (c) your circumstances change. First rule, be willing to adapt. Second rule never spend the rent money. Third rule...if it seems too good to be usually IS too good to be true. I started off as a pure collector as a kid in the 1950's...and remained a "pure" collector until the 1970's when I became a "vest pocket dealer" of sorts, I started off evaluating the value of friends collections or collections they had inherited. They would then go to a coin shop to sell (if they wanted to) with some knowledge of the value of what they had. I'd tell them how much what they had was worth "in the book" and what a coin dealer would most likely offer them. I also let them know that I'd pay the book value for any specific coins that were numismatically valuable, and be willing to pay a bit more than the coin shop would for bulk silver. Usually the collections were small and I had the resources to cover my offers. I always insisted that they go to at least 2 or three different coin shops so they would have a good idea of what they offered and I'd simply add 5% or so to the best offer. Otherwise they'd pay me %5 of what they got for the collection or 5% of the value if they did not sell. By doing that I actually ended up being a stacker not so much by intent but by circumstance. In the '70's the Hunt brothers got frisky and that made me nervous so I (luckily!!) bailed out before the peak and crash happened, and got into investing in stocks instead...which was fun at the time! Then in the mid 80's a lot of my friends started inheriting coin collections and coffee cans full of old change...so I ended up starting over and THEN I became a stacker on purpose. Since then have always been looking to pick up a bit here and a bit there when the deal was right. NOW I am retired, and I can't work overtime to get more $$, No more bonuses, and the majority of my assets are invested conservatively to allow my wife and I do live a fairly comfy life, not rich but we are able to pay our bills pay our taxes, and have a wee bit left over for "fun" things. my goals have certainly changed so have my circumstances..and just look at the market!! So I remain flexible and modest in my goals...and now I do it more for fun than anythng else.
and yes, I still look at myself as a collector first and a stacker second.

I make much of my stack available for sale and when I sell I replace the weight for less. Last sale was a 10oz Britannia bar for $439. I replaced it with the 10oz Uma and the Lion Silver Bar for $339. I bought the Britannia bar for $205 last year. Who says Silver can't pay dividends 🤔

My base for gold (AGE, Buffalo, pre33)silver (ASE, Morgans) stays regardless. foreign gold, Junk silvers and bars can be switched, traded based on the current market trend. That is my strategy.

I started the year with the goal of a tube of ASEs a month and a AGE or Buffalo every three or four months, that changed pretty quick with the silver rush, now I’m $200 worth of 90% an month and going heavy on 1oz gold coins Krugers or Philharmonics every couple of months
