Former President Donald Trump picked Sen. JD Vance of Ohio to be his running mate in the 2024 election. Vance, a 39-year-old junior senator and author, emerged as a strong contender for Trump. After announcing Vance as his pick, Donald Trump also officially overcame the delegate threshold to become the GOP nominee.
