Yep, it’s time to rehouse my Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens (Green Bottle Blue) tarantula. I know we rehoused her not too long ago, but since all the female tarantulas will slowly be moved into the new custom-made enclosures, it wouldn’t be fair for her to be left out. Today’s also the first time she’s kicked urticating hairs at me, so I guess she’s really not happy to move houses again ~ I’ve never seen a GBB kick hairs before.. till now.

However, I did film almost every rehousing of these enclosures, as requested by many.. and having a total of 99 enclosures, wouldn’t it be boring if I were to upload all 99 rehousing videos in a row, twice a week, Wednesdays and Sundays, for a whole year?

Even though my GBB can be pretty fast and bolts, I have only seen her kick hairs once, just like yours did. Just one little kick with one foot, and that's about it. My B.hamorii on the other hand uses both legs with clouds of hair thrown up, like he is riding a bike, lol! He really doesn't like being disturbed.

My GBB wasn't just a hair kicker, but she would run up and go into a full on threat pose and I didn't even have to touch her. They absolutely can be spicy. I miss her....she passed a year ago of old age.

Laughing at "if your GBB kicks hairs at you, you know you are doing something wrong" because my GBB has always been skittish and kicks hairs at her FOOD. Every spider is different, just learn about your individual specimen and be calm, and you'll be alright :)
