Young man is right. God, family country. My dad raised me this way and I raised my 3 sons this way. Men must work hard be selfless be tough but loving.

In many countries multiple generations live in same house. Why do you have to move out to start a family?
My partner and I live with father in-law. His knees are bad, his eyesight going. I clean the house and help him. He gets to see his grand kids everyday. We pay our way.
But we aren't in America. But family if you have a decent one should be the centre of everything. It gives meaning beyond yourself.

The pandemic made it much worse. Families moving away from each other because it's cheaper somewhere else. Everyone individual just thinks about themselves instead of the whole. Half my family in Texas, other half in California. No one is together anymore. Everyone on their own. Anyone else see this trend?

I definitely think that the early days of the internet made it really easy to erode family values. The computer replaced the TV and there was little to no censorship back in the 90s. I remember skipping school to go home and play video games online. 1984 was a hell of a year to be born. As soon as computers came around that was it, our perspective changed....music industry plummeted because all the good music was getting stolen, PC gaming had to go the way of steam because of piracy, and god knows what other unspeakables... I also noticed that right around the year 2000 is when all the hip hop changed and it wasn't as good anymore...along with most media companies, they all started to follow this weird cultish formula. Y2K "end of the world" was more proverbial than anything. I took acid at 18 and could see politics for what it is so much more clearly

Do you think the reason why family values in America are in decline is because people are becoming less religious and atheism is rising? I know it’s possible for a person to be an atheist or non-religious and have strong family values

We need to be pursuing a good career to better take care of our families. Too many people I know are pursuing careers just for the sake of having a career. Having a family is very fulfilling and too many people just want to live in access. You’re right. Family values are very important.
