I met the queen once. She was sleeping rough in Camden and said 'cheers mate' when I gave her some spare change. The nation won't be the same without her.

My favourite of this kind of story, is someone saying how incredibly funny she was, which is inevitably followed by the unfunniest anecdote you'll have ever heard.

I bumped into that pigeon a couple of days ago and you could see the sadness in his eyes.

Heard someone describe the current BBC News coverage as 'Mourn Hub'...
Still laughing!! 😂

This country is under some sort of collective psychosis and needs mental health intervention immediately. The continual stalking of a dead woman’s coffin is cause for concern.

This is spot on - on the local news site here in Cornwall they have just published the following story: 'Penzance dance studio owner remembers lunch with the Queen and talking about carrots with her'

Oh god, I love this. It’s so similar to all the nonsensical “anecdotes” that we’ve heard recently.

Hahahaha. This is so true! “Don’t worry mummy, the king will look after us now.” Makes me want to throw up

That last image of pigeon 🤣🤣...
BBC: "This is the pigeon that was graced by Her majesty's presence. As we can see it looks visibly upset and shaken at the loss of our dear leader" !!

We are all in the presence of greatness when we watch these videos.

I'm certain that this wasn't the desired effect - but I genuinely feel quite emotional about this pidgeon's incredible story

I was actually howling with laughter at this. Knocks it out the park every time, and not the angle I was expecting

That pigeon definitely knew, and I suspect that pigeon is perched somewhere right now reflecting. Like all of us. Reflecting.

Brilliant. Here in Australia, we children stood in the hot sun for hours. Then HM drove by in the Roller. And do you know, she looked at us! Amazing. Yes, she actually looked. Never mind that later she colluded with a drunken GG to overturn a democratically elected PM and have him dismissed. I'm sure it was nothing personal. Duty, you know.

The pigeon put it so eloquently I had a tear in my glass eye it sums up the feeling of the nation at this most difficult of times during state imposed mourning for every single subject of this once great nation…the pigeon is the leader we need right now

Gods, I got my mother repeating the moment I spoke to the Queen down the phone to me, as if it had meant something.
"But you were so happy and smiley, she came over to you!"
"I was just happy not to be in school, mum."

Comedy gold. I have put a padlock on my TV for the past week and it will stay there until Tuesday next week!

This is absolutely spot on! I've heard so many nonsensical anecdotes about how they met the Queen.
