Watching your videos has SEVERLY improved my DM deck. There are SO many bricky DM cards I've had to remove even though I love them. When it works well, it works REALLY well. When it doesn't, you really see how outclassed it is by Tier 0 & 1 decks.

Really cool you showcase how SIMPLY each of the three cards is working or not! And you mentioned at the end maybe you could cover all DM cards!! that would be great! DM education :D thank you dearly for your content!

Secrets usage is greatly improved if you play the Bystial package due to having 5-9 extra dragons floating about depending on your ratio's.

It also would have been great if it let us use materials from the GY, that synergy with how GY reliant our deck is would have made it way more versatile. But nah, it's quick play poly lol

Eternal soul with dark magic attack becomes a discard with dragoon.

From a pure DM perspective, REF is the way to go .. but from testing excessively I can confidently say : branded-dogmatika DM is still the way to go (with 3 allure of darkness)

There needs to be a ReF like fusion, but instead of mentioning Red Eyes, mentions DM without the cost of stopping you from summoning. But I feel that Konami will never give DM or Blue Eyes that glory of being like the modern meta decks.

REF is so good! Also fun fact bystials can’t banish your DM if you go Magicians’ souls first. Only when you control a monster you’re susceptible to a bystial turn 1. Ishizu cards activate on their turn unless they are in grave or get procked turn zero by the herald card. I think runick is the scariest if they are playing synchro variant & kashtira if they use their full set (ocg cards) & both decks go first. I’m almost done with my pure dm, but I need to run into some meta players. 😅 Konami really dropped the ball with timaeus not being a free summon when dm is on the field 😢

As OCG banned Dragoon probs forever, the likelihood of getting cards that make it easier for us to get to him, is pretty much non-existent now.

I think Timaeus was purely designed in getting them to Dragon Knight for the ol' triangle. It also works fine if you're playing a deck full of the jank DM spells and traps like Combination, Navigation, Illusion magic and so on, cause then you'll always have crap to discard.

But in a build that's trying not to get rolled at locals, unless its salvation or rod you're always giving up a card you'd rather not lose for hi

Completely agree. Dm needs a card like ref to be able to start the combos off let alone compete. On another note tho how are you finding the ratios on the insight package with the new red eyes meteor. Would you change any ratios or not?

Sadly I think either way it’s very situational.
The way I see it, if we don’t have a board set up and we have ref, the move is ref.
If we happen to have a board set up and draw into secrets before ref, then, it’s most likely that we try and go for DMTDK or possibly The DM’s which isn’t great sadly.
I personally like uses secrets during the battle phase, hit with dm and rod or what not, fusion into Guardian Chimera, pop some cards and atk with him as well

REF is a great one card combo, but if you get ashed you lose the match, do you want your strategy based on a one card negate?

I’m trying to think of a way to deal with removal/banishment. I’m probably getting WAY to technical, but in times when you have to deal with banished monsters/targets, would

D.D.M. (Different Dimension Master)
or
Leviair the Sea Dragon

have any possible plays? Nothing useful due to summoning needs and/or the costs to get their effects to kick off … right?

Secrets is an extender…. Sometimes. REF is a whole starter

Yeah but what saved you in that second round??? It sure as hell wasn't REF. Last time I checked it was DM related support.

Funny enough, as bad as secrets may be in a vacuum, in a kash variant of DM this card is always live because you can always xyz for ebon illusion and just ss dm for deck or hand. But yeah aside for this interaction and the fact that its a quick play, ref does have the upper hand no debate.

I've always hated timaus( monster card version) anyway. And need a reason to take it out.

One question Loza, snice we have to many ways to Ref ( red eyes insight, meteor dragon, and that trap card) do you think playing a second brick in the form of red eyes black dragon is the way to go moving forward?

Looking at you current build, I say you can get away with playing 3 Dragoons, even tho in most cases we can only summon one.

Secrets is only better in one specific case that I can think of and that’s during the battle phase

I rather see REF first any day of the week! It is automatic to Ragoon. Secrets it can be searched, and that's the only reason why I still play it.

i think people are arguing about ref bcuz it locks you from summoning and that's okay but dm monsters don't do anything like we are always going to dragoon so why don't you just use ref
you can literally make a deck with only ref, village and some floodgates and I'm sure it's going to be better than having dm cards in the deck
